My services are inspired by the Golden Hour, those wonderful, unique, and first moments after birth, when emotions are intense, radiant, and unforgettable. It is a moment when life shines like a golden light, even amidst fatigue and uncertainty. In this space, beauty and change intertwine.

Through my work, I honor this golden hour, offering compassionate, ethical, and deeply human care.

My Journey

After countless trainings and preparation, along with collaborations with various community organizations such as:

• The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families.in

• Northern Manhattan Perinatal Partnership

•The Institute for Family Health

• Planned Parenthood of NYC

• Choices in Childbirth

among others

…I’ve participated in initiatives that promote health, development, and proactive care for individuals and families. Throughout supported curriculums and peer-led education, I’ve facilitated workshops on topics such as:

• Child development

• Healthy relationships (domestic violence prevention)

• ACS: your rights and responsibilities

• Managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases

• HIV & STI's prevention, treatment, and harm reduction

• How to talk to your children about sexuality

• Reproductive health

• Sexual development from ages 0 to 18

 • Childbirth birth education.

among others.

This path led me to a DONA International training through the Healthy Women Healthy Futures program. Through this work in collaboration with HWHF and more recently, the Citywide Doula Initiative of New York City programs that are managed by the Caribbean Women Health Association (CWHA). I’ve had an honor of serving over a hundred families, mentoring new generations of doulas and applying all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained in meaningful and transformative ways.

It was in supporting these families that I came to understand the deep vulnerability within our communities of color, the socioeconomic challenges they face and the complexity of each family’s unique situation. I realized that being a doula is not just a profession, it’s a commitment to life, to the dignity of every birthing person, and to the right to receive education and a quality health care that is purposeful, culturally appropriate and rooted in respect.
